Florida State vs. Boston Live Stream College Betting Odds, Analysis, College Football Pick

Boston College owns a five-game losing streak against Florida State, but the Eagles have covered the spread in five of the last seven meetings, including the last two. Boston College will be hoping for a little home-field magic when it hosts the Seminoles Friday night in Chestnut Hill.

Point spread: The Seminoles opened as 10.5-point favorites, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. (Here are the line updates and matchup report.)

College football pick, via Odds Shark computer: 27.3-17.3, Seminoles

Why the Florida State Seminoles can cover the spread
FSU is 2-0 following Saturday's 34-14 victory over South Florida. The Seminoles settled for a 7-7 halftime tie with the Bulls, then won the second half 27-7, although they couldn't quite cover as 28-point favorites. Florida State ran the ball for 278 yards, 266 by running back Dalvin Cook, and held the ball for over 33 minutes, while the defense limited USF to one conversion on 13 third-down attempts.

Two weeks ago, the Seminoles opened the season with a 59-16 romp over Texas State, covering at minus-28.

Florida State only returned 11 starters this season, but that didn't include transfer quarterback Everett Golson, and it did include seven on defense. Also, playing away from home means the spread is a little more amenable to Florida State, which has covered its last five spots as favorites on the road of 10 points or less.

Why the Boston College Eagles can cover the spread

Boston College is also 2-0 on this young season, coming off a 76-0 scrimmage against FCS Howard. The Eagles led 41-0 after one quarter and 62-0 at the half, when the game probably should have been called. However, it was a meaningless endeavor for Boston College, because the victory can't be used toward bowl eligibility. The game probably shouldn't have even been lined, but the Eagles covered as 44-point favorites.

Two weeks ago, Boston College opened this season with a 24-3 victory over FCS Maine.

The Eagles only returned 10 starters this season, but six of them were on what has a chance to be a pretty good defense. Also, Boston College scared the heck out of Florida State last year as a 17-point underdog in Tallahassee, outrushing the Seminoles 240-110, taking them to the very end before succumbing on a field goal with three seconds left, 20-17.

Smart pick

Florida State couldn't shake the Eagles last season, but as long as Golson doesn't turn the ball over, the Seminoles should be able to take care of business Friday night. The smart choice here is with Florida State, minus the points.
